I stood beside the pool serene,
where danced the sun
and cooled the breeze.
Yet thoughts from bygone days
held curiosity at bay,
and kept me safe
upon the shore.
But then a voice,
from I know not where,
beckoned me to linger there
and test the pool.
But anchored in my trepidation,
holding strong in firm resistance,
I ignored its call.
But it persisted......
Come in, my dear, and play a while,
with all of life within your reach,
why do you tarry on the beach?
While just below my surface calm,
life goes on
and on
and on?
Dive right in and swim awhile,
feel the joy beneath my smile.
Allow yourself a little while
to live
in childish glee.
Abandoned not
you'll swim with me.
Through caves and grottoes, in magic colors...
and when you tire
rest a while among the treasures of my depth.
For my breadth you cannot see,
but only feel,
and sense,
and be.
