Strolling on a sunny day
In search of something beautiful.
A token of love and joy.
An encapsulated memory,
Of a special moment
On a special day.
How typical it is for us to search for ways,
To hold what is
By its nature passing.
Neglecting the present
That ever-entrancing parade of loveliness.
The folly of imagining that we must
Hold on to a single moment
When all eternity is ours.
I went in search of beauty,
And found it all around.
