A Folio of Five Love Poems

Why would I pretend that you Do Not Exist?

Because you are....There.

...not here......with me?

In truth,

you are never far

for you have become

part of me.

Pressed so tightly into

the fabric of my being

as we've kissed

and breathed

together....

clinging desperately....

as though to merge,

Our very Souls.

And He Said...

Sweet One,

why do you forget

how deeply you are loved?

Have you forgotten all those

who have held you in

their hearts,

and cherished you?

Here....Come Closer,

and let me

Remind you!

And if ever

you forget,

the depth of your beauty...

just gaze into my eyes and

see the reflection of

your soul.

And they asked....

Is she the one?

And I replied,

I do not know....

For we are still becoming

that which would answer.

But...we are no longer

two....and

We can never go back.

My body is chilled....

But it is of no import,

Because your sweet embrace

will keep me warm....soon.

Perhaps not tonight,

but soon enough

that the burning memory

of our last embrace

will keep me....

glowing...

Til you open my eyes once more.

She Looked for Love.....

In my words,

but found only

emptiness....

and suffering.

But still she looked,

with faith.....and

expectation.

For she knows

my soul

and

her relentlessness

has reformed those

bitter phrases into song.

Urging my bleeding heart

to a higher place

where only love flows,

from my eyes to hers.

Inspiration / Author Note

She said it was only infatuation and would not last...and of course she was right.
